Shopping Centers The Hot Spot Monday In Jacksonville

People were venturing out in Jacksonville Monday despite some wet and icy roads.

Shopping centers were among the hot spots. Matthew Ware was in search of bargains. "I didn't get pants for Christmas so we decided to get some pants."

And he was not alone. Many people were out and about making their rounds instead of the day after Christmas.

Mike McCoy, store manager at Legends, says, "We didn't really have any returns and sales weren't that great and normally it's a lot of returns and a lot of people shop and buy things with gifts cards."

Greg Jackson and his family are just some of the many who waited till Monday to return some items. "Didn't want to take the chance losing my life or somebody else's."

Highway Patrol in Onslow County says they responded to 48 wrecks Sunday and Monday.
