A mother made a plea this afternoon for someone to come forward with information that will solve her son's murder.

Albert Correll, and his father, Duane, were found shot Saturday night at their home on Carteret County. The 20-year-old died at the scene, while his father passed away later at Carteret General Hospital.

Gina Correll appeared at an afternoon news conference at the Sheriff's Office, pleading for help in finding her son's killer. The Corrells had divorced some 15 years ago.

Deputies say they are looking at whether a recent altercation involving the son had anything to do with the murders. The two had left Walmart in Beaufort at 9:24 p.m. and then the 911 call came in at 9:49 p.m.

Captain Jason Wank says they believe the murderer(s) may have been waiting at the home as the father and son never made it inside.

Wank says it looks like whoever did this was going after the son, while the father may have known or seen something.

On Friday the son had just been promoted to a manager at the Burger King in Beaufort.

Deputies say they have had multiple tips being called in and and interviewed several people since Saturday night.
