Strong storms are moving southeast into eastern North Carolina late in the afternoon. Keep an eye to the west and northwest as storms form and move quickly east-southeast. The main threats from the storms this evening are strong gusty winds, hail, lightning, and heavy downpours.
Eastern North Carolina is under the slight risk designation from the Severe Storms Forecast Center.
Once storms pass, it will turn cooler with high temperatures in the 60s Thursday. A cool rain is likely to develop Thursday night into Friday.
