High pressure moving off the East Coast will give us one additional chilly night before slightly warmer air moves into eastern North Carolina Wednesday. Overnight lows will fall into the upper 30s before recovering into the lower to middle 60s Wednesday afternoon. Clouds will be on the increase Wednesday afternoon ahead of a cold front that will push into eastern Tennessee late in the day. The front will bring showers to western North Carolina late Wednesday then across the state by early Thursday. Some of the showers could be accompanied by heavy thunderstorms on Thursday.
