Search For Suspects After Greenville Robbery & Assault

An ECU student looking to pick his sister up from downtown Greenville ended up the victim of an aggressive robbery.

Krestin Barnes says her brother James is doing well but suffered a broken nose in the robbery.

It happened just after 1:00 a.m. Saturday when we're told that James was sitting in his car in the parking lot just across from Cotanche Street. That's where the umbrella market takes place.

Krestin Barnes says that three men walked up to her brother's car and asked him for his wallet. She says the group ended up opening his door and punched him in the face before running with his cell phone.

Greenville Police say that there is surveillance video of the suspects--but that investigators are not ready to release that footage yet.

ECU officials alerted students and faculty to the robbery just one hour after it took place.

This is why I carry everywhere I go. Can't wait for the day to come when these thugs come up on the right person packing.

EVERY student who lives off campus should own and carry a firearm whenever legal. Greenville is turning into a "free-fire victim-rich zone" thanks to the silly policies of ECU, and several "community groups" that are brainwashing the good people of Greenville to be passive, disarmed victims. Don't be a sheeple--the wolves out there do NOT think you are being "a better person" when you choose to be unable to defend yourself--they see you as "easy pickins'. Get a gun. Get training. Get a permit if you want to carry concealed. Carry EVERYWHERE you go that is legal. Please, Greenville, it's time to let the thugs know that it is the GOOD people of this town that control it. Wake up, folks...

Just one reason I keep doors locked and car running. You have got to keep situational awareness. Sadly most people have no clue what is going on around them.
