It's been five months since a woman was killed in a hit and run on Highway 17 in Craven county and the Highway Patrol says they are still looking for the first driver that hit her.

Twenty-Five-year-old Jennifer Bond was hit and killed around 4:00 a.m. on June 22.

Neighbors who witnessed the accident say they saw Bond pass out in the south bound lane of Highway 17 and get hit by an oncoming truck.

Highway Patrol First Sergeant Kevin Rock says they review unsolved cases at least twice a year and always welcome new tips. Rock says, "If somebody remembers something later on that maybe they weren't aware of at the time, they may have been out of town, or on vacation or gone for an extended amount of time and they get back and hear about it and may remember something we're more then happy to take that information."

The truck is described as a box truck, possibly a delivery truck.

As I recall there was a lot about the entire situation that was off-kilter... Had she been drugged at a bar? Are they sure nobody from near where she was hit was at that bar? How did she get to where she got hit? Might who hit her have been who drugged and brought her there? Have they re-questioned all the 'witnesses'?? It is sad...

I remember that too. The person in question could be in another state by now, or at least hundreds of miles away. It's still a horrible way to go.

My question is why did she pass out?

I'm glad to see the search is still on, her children deserve justice. My prayers are still with her family.
