School Board Looks Inward

Members of the Pitt County Board of Education will meet Monday in a called meeting, where the agenda lists a handful of items that deal with the board itself.

One of the topics on the agenda is the number of the people on the board. Currently, there are two members representing each district. Board member Jennifer Little suggested reducing the representation to one board member per district. Board Chairman Billy Peaden told WITN he does not support the proposed change.

Also on Monday's agenda, discussing the term length of board members and the time lapse between election day and when board members are sworn in.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Third Floor Board Room, Pitt County Office Building in Greenville.

Him in the general sense - much like saying man when speaking of mankind. Obviously, girl thugs are around as well. I understand it is a right - it is one that is not taken away enough and is therefore taken for granted. I am on the front lines of this counter culture of stupidity and blatant ignorance.

Without will, there will be no change. The schools are failing at a rate that will not tolerable in the future. Please someone do the right thing and not the politically right thing. Way too many people on the board, way too long.

"Change", how about the "hers"? If you can get rid of the "hims" you can get rid of the "hers" as well. Stop thinking in such sexist ways, or doesn't that only cut one way? Girls/women can be thugs, can be violent, can be druggies, can be uneducatable just like male thugs. Education is not a priviledge, it is a right. That being said, it is a right that can be forfeited by ones bad behavior just as the right to walk around free can be forfeited when one commits an act where jail or prison is warrented. Other than that, you are right on point.

Change needs to occur - an no - not in the Obama sense of the word. The schools are in a tailspin - we need authority with the willingness to exact strong action where warranted. Get the thugs and wanna-bes out of the schools and let's get back to education. Education is a privilege, not a right! We need to make this motto happen. If a kid doesn't want to be educated - get rid of him. We need backbone people
