A school bus driver has been charged after an accident Wednesday afternoon slowed traffic on a busy Lenoir County highway.
The crash happened around 4:00 p.m. on Highway 11 and Braxton Road, that's between Kinston and Grifton.
The driver has been identified as 47-year-old Angeleique Thomas.
The Highway Patrol says there were no children on the bus, which was heading back to Contentnea-Savannah School.
Troopers say the bus was pulling out from Braxton Road, into the path of a northbound minivan.
The minivan received extensive front end damage, but fortunately the two adults inside were taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital with only minor injuries.
The Highway Patrol says Thomas was charged with failure to yield.
Lenoir County Schools says Thomas was hired as a full-time bus driver in April 2012 and so far no disciplinary action has been taken against her.
