Sauls Named New Interim Greenville Police Chief

Greenville will soon have a new interim police chief, as the current interim chief will retire at the end of the month.

Captain Ted Sauls will lead the police department when Interim Chief Joe Bartlett leaves October 31st. Bartlett has been interim chief since February when Chief William Anderson left for a new job in Asheville.

The city is also getting a new interim assistant city manager. Current Assistant City Manager Thom Moton is leaving for the top job in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma next week. Chris Padgett, the city's chief planner, will temporarily take Moton's job effective October 24th.

There is no word yet on when City Manager Barbara Lipscomb will name a new police chief, or fill several other vacant management positions at city hall.
