Salvation Army Starts Delivering Toys In Pitt County

The Salvation Army in Pitt County is distributing toys for about 1,900 children.

The Salvation Army says this is twice the number of children they had from last year. All of the toys were donated as part of their angel tree giving program.

Those who chose to donate were able to pull angels off a Christmas tree with a child's name and go buy gifts that were on the child's list. Those gifts were then brought back to the Salvation Army and families were assigned numbers which they brought with them to receive the gifts purchased for them.

The Salvation Army started taking applications for this program in October and they are still accepting all donations for the holidays.
