It's a stretch of highway with a higher rate of accidents than any other on average, statewide. Now the State Department of Transportation is asking for your input on proposing safety improvements.
The NCDOT hopes to improve a 7.8-mile stretch of N.C. 11 and U.S. 13 from just south of the intersection of N.C. 11 and N.C. 561 near Ahoskie to the intersection of U.S. 13 and U.S. 158 and N.C. 45 near Winton in Hertford County.
No designs have been prepared yet for the project.
A public hearing is slated for 4 to 7 p.m. at Bearfield Primary School located at 145 Hertford County High School Road, Ahoskie Tuesday, March 27th.
Only general information will be available at this workshop.
