I have family all over the central coast of NC. Electricity has just been restored in many of these areas but not all is restored. In Florence, Merritt, Oriental, Pamlico, flooding was at a high in many areas, with downed trees and major power lines were down which is why some could not be contacted or return calls. Some people were without power for 5 1/2 days. Flooding in Merritt entered into homes, garages, flooded cars, a real mess. Bath creek, rose to high levels and wind and waves took out docks and flooding. Belhaven strong winds possible tornado did much damage. Craven County along Trent Rd., okay, shingles missing and downed limbs and tree tops., Minnesot Beach area, some downed trees and flooding in spots. I pray all those working on the clean up stay safe. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!

Heard from cousin in Jonaquins Landing, Beaufort, NC. His home is waterfront on Jonaquins Creek at the mouth of Adams Creek and Neuse River. He said they are out of power and no phone. The water came to within 1ft of the floor of his house. Higher than the previous storm marker. I believe "Bob". He said the yard is a mess but they are safe. The location is 30 minutes North of Beaufort off Merrimon Road. He said not to call because of power outages and the need to conserve cell phone.
