SMASH & GRAB: Man Hitting Sears Jewelry Counters After Hours

Police in two cities here in the east are looking for a man who has taken thousands of dollars worth of gold jewelry from Sears. In both cases the burglar smashed doors to get inside.

In the Greenville robbery, police say $35,000 in jewelry was taken early Sunday morning. Police responded to an alarm call around 4:15 a.m. and found the glass in the doors on the north side of the building shattered. Inside they discovered the jewelry case had been broken into.

The case at the Rocky Mount Sears happened on February 12th.

In both cases a white man wearing a hat is seen on surveillance cameras. Police have released photos with hopes that someone will recognized the burglar.
