SHERIFF: Largest Seizure Of Ecstasy In County

It's being called the largest ecstasy seizure ever for one Eastern Carolina County. Jones County deputies say they seized some 700 ecstasy pills in the glove box of an SUV that was stopped at a vehicle checkpoint.

Senus Lofton of Dudley has been charged with three counts of trafficking in MDA/MDMA, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver schedule I controlled substance, manufacture schedule I controlled substance, and maintain a vehicle of schedule I controlled substance.

The man was stopped last Tuesday at Hargett's Crossroads on Highway 258 as deputies were checking driver licenses. As a deputy walked up to the driver's side window, she noticed the odor of alcohol. While the driver was not impaired, a consensual search of the vehicle found an open container of alcohol. The driver then attempted to stop the search and a K-9 unit was brought in. The dog alerted to the glove box of the SUV.

Lofton was released after posting a $50,000 bond.

Never had any friends that took it, never been around anybody under the influence of it, never heard of anybody in my circle trying to buy it, never had anyone I know take it at anytime in their lives.

I've heard that before and they were wrong. Just saying, you never know what people do behind closed doors. You can dispute it if you want, that's your perogative. People have used it and friends across the street could say the same thing you are because THEY DON'T KNOW.

From all I have heard of that stuff,it is about as EVIL as drugs get,and so dealers caught with it should be forced to consume all they are caught with.

Jones County Magistrate seems to always forget to put the word SECURE in front of bond . Another one out.

Seriously doubt he consented to a search. The official version is typically far from the truth.
