Police said it took five minutes to find a man they believe was trying to get into a tractor trailer while the driver made an early delivery to a local Starbucks.

Greenville Police said they got the call around 3 a.m. Thursday to the Starbucks on East 10th Street.

Investigators said the tractor trailer driver was making a delivery to the coffee shop when he noticed a man fidgeting with the handle to his truck.

Police said it was 23-year-old Gregory Spencer trying the handle, but he ran off.

Officers said Spencer was in custody within 5 minutes of the incident and charged for tampering with a vehicle.

Spencer was given a $1,000 bond on the misdemeanor charge and is expected in court later Thursday morning.
