Suddenlink customers in one area of eastern carolina are in for major upgrades now that an eight month, multi-million dollar project is complete.
Ribbon cutting ceremonies were held Thursday in Rocky Mount for the project that involved building and upgrading cables and lines across North Carolina, including 650 miles in the Rocky Mount area. Rocky Mount residents now have video on demand, more than 80 high definition channels, and a faster internet speed. Suddenlink officials say they are excited to be able to bring these upgrades to their customers.
"In a time today where some companies are pulling back, we made a decision as part of a $350 million company-wide investment program 2 years ago to go out and invest in our network and give our customers the service that they deserve." said Ahlschlager.
Areas like Greenville and New Bern have already received these upgrades.
