Robbery Suspect Caught After Foot Chase

A robbery suspect is now behind bars after deputies chased him through the woods behind a middle school on Saturday.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff's department they recived a call reporting an armed robbery at New Hope Grocery, on New Hope Roadd Saturday.

When Deputies arrived on scene a citizen directed them towards a fleeing suspect. A deputy then chased the suspect through the woods behind Eastern Wayne Middle School.

The suspect was quickly apprehended, and identified as John Nick.

During the course of the investigation, evidence was located that indicated Nick was also responsible for the Robbery of the Spence Ave. Wal-Mart earlier that same morning.

The suspect was arrested and charged 2 counts of Armed Robbery and 1 count of Second Degree Kidnapping. He was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a total of $300,000.00 Secured Bond.

    "Innocent" suspects don't run from the police...or the scene of the crime.

    right, because if you happen to be an innocent suspect, you would want the police to kill you first then find you innocent. its called justice, you know.

    they should allow law enforcement to use lethal force when a suspect runs. it endangers the officer & public. too bad its only the criminal's rights which are protected
