Motorists driving in Greenville will want to be aware that portions of Memorial Drive north of Dickinson Avenue are scheduled to be closed from Saturday, February 5 through Monday, February 7.

The closures on Memorial will allow crews to repair the railroad crossing.

Meanwhile, plans to close a portion of Greenville Boulevard later this month to work on the railroad crossings have now been pushed to March.

The original plan was to close Greenville Boulevard near the railroad tracks February 21-25. That area will now be closed March 7-14.

I don't think that the weather was cooperating this weekend. So I would guess that the work was postponed.

Maybe they'll be smart this time and make sure that bicycles will be safe crossing the tracks as in their master plan instead of wasting more of our money later on by re-doing it.

Praise the Lord and pass the cement trowel! Its about time! The small inconvenience of detouring on Memorial Drive, and soon on Greenville Boulevard will be worth it. At least we won't have to slow down to 5 MPH to cross these railroad intersections when its all done. Plus, hopefully, fewer trips to the garage for wheel alignments.
