A Pitt County double murder suspect will have to wait to see where his trial will be held.
A change of venue hearing had been scheduled Friday for James Richardson, but court officials say that has been postponed because Superior Court has been cancelled. A venue hearing determines whether a defendant can receive a fair trial because of publicity about the case or if it should be moved to another county.
Richardson is accused of murdering Landon Blackley and Andrew Kirby on June 30, 2009 outside the Other Place night club in Greenville. Prosecutors say if convicted on the murder charges they plan to seek the death penalty against the Greenville man.
Richardson was last in court a month ago when Judge Russell Duke denied a move to lower the man's bond. There has been no new date for that venue hearing.
