Funeral arrangements have been finalized for a Lenoir County retired lawman and magistrate.
The obituary says Lester Gosnell died Sunday at the age of 57 of natural causes. His funeral is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. at Garner Funeral Home. He will be buried with full military honors in Tennessee on Monday.
Gosnell rose through the ranks of the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office to become a major and served as a magistrate.
A retired high-ranking law enforcement official from Lenoir County has passed away.
Major Lester Gosnell is retired from the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office says Gosnell passed away Sunday.
He is survived by two daughters. During his career, Gosnell worked as a law enforcement officer, magistrate and instructor.
It is not clear how Gosnell died.
