Red Flag Fire Warning Lifted

A red flag warning was issued Wednesday for a large part of Eastern Carolina.

The National Weather Service says the extreme fire danger warning was in effect until 8:00 p.m.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions exist. Strong winds, low humidity and warm temperatures will create the high potential for fires.

State fire officials request people hold off on outdoor burning of their brush piles and leave them until we receive a soaking rainfall.
