A busy highway in Pitt County was closed down this afternoon after authorities say rain caused a two vehicle crash.
Highway 33, near the intersection with Penny Hill Road, was shut down due to the wreck.
Witnesses say one vehicle headed westbound hydroplaned and crossed into oncoming traffic. An eastbound car t-boned the oncoming car.
Drivers of both vehicles were taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
