Prices At Pump Jump With New Gas Tax

Gasoline prices were expected to jump January 1st as the state's gas tax went up 3.9 cents, and northcarolinagasprices.com shows the state average price for a gallon of regular unleaded has risen 4.4 cents in the past week, while the national average is down 4 cents since the start of December.

Some drivers in Greenville have seen nearly a 10-cent increase at some gas stations. Prices yesterday were more than 25-cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago.
