Police: Man Arrives At New Bern Checkpoint Drunk, With Marijuana

Police will probably tell you they've seen just about everything during a driver's license checkpoint, but this may have surprised them.

It was 10:30 Saturday morning when New Bern Police say an obviously intoxicated person drove up. They say-57-year-old James Tyndall had a blood alcohol content of .25, which is more than 3 times the legal limit. Officers seized an open container of alcohol, 256 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Tyndall is charged with six drug and alcohol related offenses.
