Fundraiser Held For Slain Football Player's Family

A fundraiser is being held today for the family of Brandon Denby, a member of the Jacksonville Spartans semi-pro football team.

Denby, who was 30, was shot and killed December 23.

The Spartans are holding a spaghetti dinner today to benefit Brandon's family. Emotions are running high as they gather to help Denby's family and remember their friend and colleague.

The dinner is underway right now until 6 p.m. at Abundant Life Christian Center at 610 Bell Fork Road in Jacksonville.

Police say Denby was shot by his roommate, 24-year-old Jamel Terry, after an argument.

Police are searching Terry, who they say is armed and dangerous and was last seen driving a white Chevrolet Equinox.

Police report Terry is 24 years old, 5'10" and weighs 235 pounds.
