Police Directing Traffic At Greenville And Arlington

Greenville police officers are directing traffic at the intersection of Greenville and Arlington Blvds. Crews are replacing the light pole on the northwest corner of the intersection.

Police have shut down the right lane headed westbound on Greenville Blvd. as drivers approach the intersection with Arlington. It opens up shortly after getting past the intersection, which is where the work is taking place.

The work is not causing significant congestion.

An officer helping direct traffic said the work began around 9 a.m. It wasn't clear when the crews would be finished.

The officer called the work "routine maintenance."

To Enough is Enough and local, it's cause you have idiots and crooks (being crooked still should'nt make a difference in this deal) running the city government like you had back in the mid to late 90's, just like you have idiots and crooks running the state government as well. They should clean house then Greenville would be a lot better of a city.

why cant this "routine" maintenance be done at night? GUC, and the city sure do pick the "best" times to do "maintenance."

Why in the world would they do "routine maintenance" during one of the busiest times of day at an already very busy intersection??? Would it not make more sense to do this during the evening or night? Thank you for making a bad traffic area even worse!

At least they didn't do it on a friday or game day. traffic slows down after nine, and if they did it at night, you would complain that the city was spending too much on overtime pay for the workers or that the light was out at night.
