Plea Deal Reached In 2009 Greenville Murder

A plea bargain has been reached between prosecutors and a man accused of killing a Greenville mother in 2009.

Richard Taft pleaded guilty Monday morning to accessory after the fact of shooting into an occupied dwelling. Taft and four others were charged with first degree murder in the death of Kendra Blount.

The 22-year-old woman was gunned down at the intersection of Evans and Howell streets after police say she and other rival gang groups were thrown out of the Phoenix Nightclub.

Taft was sentenced to serve between 15 and 18 months in prison.
