The United Way of Pitt County was serving up soup and chili Friday during its annual "souper bowl" fundraiser.
For seven dollars anyone could buy a ticket for soup or chili, sandwich, drink and dessert.
There was a contest where judges decided on the best soup and chili. WITN's April Davis and Marvin Daugherty both served as judges.
Pitt County United Way marketing director Haley Adams says they like to call the event a "friendraiser" because it's not just about raising money, but also to let people know more about United Way. "Just to create a little bit of awareness for United Way and to get us involved in the community and let people find out where we are and some things that we are doing."
Adams says they had a great turnout and raised about $400.00.
