Pitt County Schools released their school bus stop schedule on their website for the upcoming school year.
Officials say the school system's transportation budget will be $300,000 to $600,000 less than the previous year. The budget cuts are forcing buses to make fewer stops.
The stops for fourth through 12th graders are considered community stops, meaning students must load and unload at the entrances of subdivisions and communities. Kindergarten through third graders will be picked up the same as before.
In addition to saving money, school officials say fewer stops will result in shorter bus rides for students.
