Pitt County Opens Shelter For Displaced Residents

Pitt County has opened a shelter for county residents displaced by Hurricane Irene.

The shelter is at the Boys and Girls Club, 621 West Fire Tower Road in Winterville. It opened at 11:00 a.m.

Those Pitt County citizens with special medical needs can still call 252-902-3956, while the Emergency Operations Center hot-line is still open as well. That number is 252-902-3999.
