A young woman ready to take on the world died after having a seizure in her family's pool IN July, and now her mother is hoping to help others by starting a foundation about epilepsy.
Suzanne Powell says her 19-year-old daughter Leah Drokse drowned in the back yard pool at their home on Holland Road in the area of Belvoir after suffering from a seizure in July . She says her daughter's seizures could be triggered by flickering lights, and the sun. The day Leah died, she was found in her swimsuit in the pool without her sunglasses.
Powell has started a Facebook page called Epilepsy Awareness in Greenville. You can find it by clicking on the link below. She plans to help other families so they don't go through the pain of losing a loved one.
Powell says her dream is to have a foundation in Greenville to act as a support group. She hopes to connect with neurologists in the area.
