A man who was shot over the weekend in Pitt County is recovering as authorities continue to try and figure out who pulled the trigger.

The shooting happened around 1:00 a.m. Sunday.

The Pitt County Sheriffs Office says two men told them they left Players Choice in Winterville when a car started following them.

The driver, 28-year-old Martrell Suggs pulled over on Davenport Farm Road and two men got out of the car following him.

Suggs' passenger, 23-year-old Reginald Edwards ran to a near-by house to have someone call police.

While the passenger ran for help, deputies say Suggs was shot in the leg and the two unidentified suspects left the scene.

Right now authorities do not have a description of the suspects.

There's no word on Suggs condition.
