Pirates Shut Down Wake Forest In Zebulon

The ECU baseball team shut down Wake Forest 9-0 at Five County Stadium in Zebulon. The game was played on a neutral field but considered a home game for ECU.

The Pirates broke the game open in the bottom of the fifth inning scoring five runs while batting through the order.

East Carolina collected 16 hits in the game while holding Wake Forest to seven.

Four Pirate pitchers combined to throw a shutout with starter Zach Woods getting the victory.

ECU returns to Clark-LeClair Stadium Friday to begin a three game non-conference series against Delaware State. Friday's game is set for 6pm.
