Pirates Prep For National Signing Day

National Signing Day has arrived, and colleges across the country prepare to celebrate their recruits who sign letters of intention and lament the good ones who got away.

At East Carolina University, this National Signing Day will be the first where Pirate Head Coach Ruffin McNeill has had a full year of recruiting. McNeill was hired to lead the Pirates just two weeks before signing day in 2010 after the departure of Skip Holtz.

The Pirate Club is hosting a Signing Day Party for its members Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. ECU will announce its 2011 Pirate Football Recruiting Class at that event.

The day will also reveal where Eastern Carolina's best high school football players will be playing college football.

Hey geniuses, take a look at the schools that offered ECU's players scholarships. That is, by far, the best indicator of talent level.

JDLadd: You don't have to be a big name school and have some coach who makes a million dollars a year to get blue chip players. Most moms and dads want their son to be coached and mentored by a man who has some genuine interest in the way their son will be treated while he is playing, and most importantly, what kind of positive values he will have learned along the way. Coach McNeil is a man of character who wants to produce a winner on the football field and on the playing field of life. Ruffin would be a winner at ANY school because he cares about his players and they most certainly know it to be genuine. See where we are in another year or two with getting the 4 and 5 star players. You guys need to get over the fact that ECU is on the way to producing winning teams and being one of the best teams in Carolina.

Did not see this guy on radar. 4 star RB out of FL. Chevelle Buie just committed. He was offered by most schools on the east coast. Go get 'em Ruff.
