Pet Of The Week

A dog named Max visited WITN News at Sunrise as the Pet of the Week Wednesday.

Max is an 8 year old, super handsome neutered male Corgi mix who is considered "a big dog in a small dog package." He's just above 25 lbs. Corgis are really smart dogs with big dog personality.

Max is a looker - sleek black coat, cute little stubby tail that curls over his backside and a bit of gray on his snout adds a "distinguished" look. His pictures don't even begin to do him justice. He limps a little from an old injury to one his rear legs, but that doesn't stop him from getting around.

Max is a good boy, eager to please, and clearly remembers what it is like to live in a home and be loved by a family. Max is an incredible dog who deserves to spend the rest of his years - and for a small dog that's a good long time - with a family to call his own.

All dogs at the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and on heartworm and flea prevention. All dogs 6 months or older are tested for heartworms. Their adoption comes with a small bag of Hill's Science Diet food and a free one month trial of pet health insurance.

If you are interested in adopting Max or any of the animals at the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina, please contact them at (252) 413-7247 or visit them online at
