A dog named Buttercup visited WITN News at Sunrise as the Pet of the Week Wednesday.
Buttercup is a one-year-old Hound mix that volunteers call "one sweet bundle of comical energy that is sure to put a smile on your face."
She is always up for a good game of chase with her friend Stripes at the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina and shows her joy by the most melodic hound voice.
Buttercup is a wonderful sized little girl somewhere between a Beagle and a Walker Hound but slimmer and more refined. This makes it all the easier for her to get around the play yard with great speed. She thrives on exercise and being able to get out and stretch those adorable little hound legs. She would make a great playmate for another young dog. She loves treats so continuing her training should be an easy task. She would also benefit from a fenced yard where she could exercise safely while you are out enjoying her antics. Volunteers recommend a home with older children.
All dogs at the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and on heartworm and flea prevention. All dogs 6 months or older are tested for heartworms. Their adoption comes with a small bag of Hill's Science Diet food and a free one month trial of pet health insurance.
