Perdue Farms Donates Money To Flooded Windsor Organizations

One business is pitching in to help organizations from Windsor in Bertie County who are still recovering from the flooding that followed Tropical Storm Nicole in September and October.

Perdue Farms is donating money to the Lawrence Memorial Public Library, the Windsor-Bertie County Chamber of Commerce and the Bertie County Rescue Squad, which were all damaged by flooding.

Lawrence Memorial librarian Nancy Hughes says they lost about a quarter of the book collection and all furnishings. Perdue farms donated $20,000 to the library. Hughes hopes insurance money replaces books and furnishings - and says the library plans to use Perdue's money to help move.

The Bertie County Rescue Squad and Windsor-Bertie Chamber of Commerce each received $5,000.
