I have lived in various places around the USA. NC is the only state where I have read of any (without mentioning the other at least 20 or so since I moved here!) where a person goes to the road for a nap. Is it the fire ants? Too dangerous to nap on the shoulder?

I live about 5 minutes from Porter rd. I hope more facts are brought to light soon, the crime element is getting a little outrageous on this side of town.

That's what I was thinking, she could have already been dead if she was lying in the road!! I feel sorry for both families but could not imagine how the driver feels, my heart goes out to them!

Will wait for more facts; the pedestrian could have been laid there, already deceased.
