Parmalee Drummer Shooter Gets 20 Years In Prison

A South Carolina man will spend the next 20 years in prison for trying to kill and rob a member of the Greenville band Parmalee.

Scott Thomas, the band's drummer, spent more than a month in the hospital after he was wounded in the robbery outside a Rock Hill nightclub last September.

On Tuesday in the South Carolina courtroom, Dytavis Hinton pleaded guilty to attempted murder, armed robbery, conspiracy and burglary.

Police say Hinton and Demario Burris tried to rob the band after a concert, forcing their way into the band's tour bus. During a shootout, Thomas was hit three times while Burris was killed.

Thomas was not charged as police said he was acting in self defense.
