Kinston Police said a driver hit two power poles just before 3 a.m. Friday, cutting the lights in parts of the city.

Commander Cary Barnes tells WITN they were called to a wreck at 2:50 a.m. Friday at Gordon and South McLewean Street.

Officers said a vehicle apparently hit two power poles then flipped up to three times.

We know one person from inside that vehicle was taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital. No word yet on how that person is doing or if he or she was the driver.

Police said their investigation continues, but the power was back on before 6:30 a.m.
