Police said 5-year-old boy was playing in the yard when a neighbor's pit bull attacked the child.
Greenville police said they got a call of a dog bite a little after 6 p.m. on Monday to 2120 Oak Bend Drive, Apartment A.
Police said a neighbor's pit bull attacked the child. The child was taken to the hospital and now has four puncture wounds to his lower leg and foot. A doctor told the boy to stay off his leg for a week.
The child was in the yard with his father and uncle when the family says their neighbor let the pit bull outside. There is no fence between the two duplexes.
Animal Control is following up on the case.
