Pitt Community College and Guilford Tech started off the game with good defensive pressure and the game stayed within a 1 or 2 point lead for most of the first half. The game was tied at 27 at the half.
Guilford Tech got a couple 3-pt baskets from Donald Anderson to push the GTCC lead to 12 points at the 6:41 mark.
PCC made its run, cutting GTCC's lead to 6 with 3 minutes remaining.
It all came down to the last 41.7 seconds to decide the game. Down by 2 points, PCC made a defensive stand forcing GTCC to use most of the shot clock. GTCC called a timout and out of the timeout PCC's John Setters made a big steal with 17 seconds on the game clock taking the ball all the way for the tying lay up. With the game 63 - 63, GTCC took the ball out of bounds and drove down the court but the ball was knock away into the hands of PCC's Tyrelle Jackson's who passed the ball to John Setters, who with 2 seconds on the clock, got the ball and shot it from behind the 3-point line and made the shot as time expired.
PCC won at the buzzer over GTCC 66-63.
PCC has won 3 games in a row and will face GTCC on Saturday, February 19 in Jamesville,NC at 3pm.
