PCC got off to a slow start offensively, scoring only 5 points in the first 12 and a half minutes of the game against Wake Tech, who scored 21 unanswered points. Pitt fought back but Wake Tech held on to lead by16 by the close of the first half 43-27.
At the 5:40 mark in the second half, Wake Tech led 70-57 behind he hot shooting of guard Zack Allen, who made 4 of 7 from behind the three-point arc. PCC fought back to bring the the score to 77-71 with 2:33 left behind a great team effort but with 57.8 seconds remaining, Allen hit a three pointer that put Wake Tech up 82-74. PCC could not get any closer turning the ball over on its last 3 possessions of the game and falling to Wake Tech, 88-74.
PCC's Jon Setters led all scorers with 26 point (8 of 11 from the field and 5 of 7 from behind the three-point arc). Tyrelle Jackson added 15 points and Josh Cody chipped in with 13 points.
Wake Tech had six players in double figures behind 19 points from Zack Allen, 13 from Jahvah Braswell, 12 each from Bradon Richardson and Julian Martin and 10 points each from Karl Agenor and AJ Smith.
PCC will play at home on Thursday to Louisburg at 7 PM in the Coburn Center.
