Operation Santa Delivers Toys To More Than 100 Pitt Co. Children

At least 100 children in Pitt County were given gifts due to Operation Santa Claus. Several organizations take part, including the Highway Patrol, Sheriffs Department, Greenville Police, fire and rescue, and ECU. The collecting of toys for children started November 27 and ended December 16th. Friday the groups along with Santa Claus made a few special deliveries to less fortunate families.

Its something newly elected Sheriff Neil Elks is proud of.
"Oh we're so excited to go out and put a smile on kids faces and make their Christmas, but I would like to thank the citizens of Pitt County although we live in a tough economical time the people have still come up step forward to give gifts from the bottom of their hearts and made this day possible," said Sheriff Elks.
