Onslow County Second In State For Domestic Violence Murders

Disturbing data as one county in Eastern Carolina is second in the state when it comes to the number of domestic violence murders.

In just released figures by the Attorney General's Office, Onslow County is only behind Mecklenburg County when it comes to murders involving domestic violence cases.

In 2010, Mecklenburg topped the list with 12 cases, followed by Onslow County with six and Wake County with five. Wake County has five times the population of Onslow County.

The previous year Onslow County had three domestic violence murders.

Here is Eastern Carolina, Beaufort County followed Onslow County with 3 domestic violence homicides, Wilson County with two and Currituck, Duplin, Edgecombe, Hertford and Wayne counties with one each.

Statewide the number of these murder cases reached 107, up from 99 the year before. Figures show 70 of those victims were female, while 37 were male.

Isn't Onslow one of those counties the sheriff hates concealed carry and waits the full 90 days to issue a permit? Just sayin' - restraining orders are worthless pieces of paper.
