Onslow County Looking Better 2 Months After Hurricane Irene

Irene left a path of destruction through Onslow County 2 months ago, but roads are clear again, debris is gone, and many roofs are patched or new.

You may remember the flooding in Onlsow County and a big issue in Jacksonville was power outages after so many trees were brought down. Now the roads are clear again. The southwest area of the county had a lot of damage. That's where we caught up with 17-year-old Alexis Allen who remembers the chaos.

"That tree was blocking a lot of people that thought it would be okay to drive, so no one could get onto this road which leads to major highways. So it was difficult," said Allen.

Good news for Allen family- their new roof is installed after shingles were ripped off by the storm.
