Onslow County Asking Voluntarily Water Conservation

Onslow County is now asking residents to voluntarily conserve water because of the drought.

ONWASA says recent dry conditions and hot weather have increased water usage in their service area and they expect that to continue over the next several months. Currently Onslow County, along with about a dozen other coastal counties, remains under a severe drought.

Earlier this month Pender County asked for voluntary water conservation as well.

More wells need to be drilled if the system cannot meet demand when it is needed the most. The Castle Hayne aquifer has the recharge capacity.
