The Onslow County school district is looking to hire 30 bus drivers by the end of the month.

The jobs are part-time positions. Drivers work a couple hours in the morning and a couple hours in the afternoon. The starting wage is $12.38 an hour.

Steve Meyers with Onslow County Schools says it's an ideal job for parents.

"It's a golden opportunity to have a part-time job that only requires them to be working while their kids are in school. At the end of the day they'll still be able to spend time with their families." Said Meyers.

Bus drivers must pass a drug test and background check and you also have to get a special certification to be able to drive buses. The school district will pay for your classes to pass that certification. It involves three days of classroom time, and three days on the bus. .The next class starts Tuesday August 6th.
