Jacksonville police have one armed robbery suspect in custody and are looking for a second one after a hold-up at a motel overnight.
Charond Burris of Jacksonville is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, first degree burglary, 2nd degree kidnapping and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Police say Burris is homeless.
Police say it took place at the Triangle Motor Inn around 2:15 a.m. They say two men knocked on the door and forced their way into a motel room. The two armed men demanded money, and while one of the gunmen waited in the room with one victim, the second forced the other victim to walk to a nearby ATM to withdraw cash. At the ATM that victim was able to run and alert police.
Police got to the motel room and found Burris still holding the other victim. He is now in jail on a $25,000 bond.
