Ferry service between Ocracoke and Cedar Island is on an amended schedule this week because of repairs to one of the ferries serving the route.
The N.C. Department of Transportation says three runs will be cancelled from both ends of the route. The DOT says the route will return to normal operations once the ferry Cedar Island is repaired and approved to return to service by the U.S. Coast Guard.
From Cedar Island, the 7 a.m., 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. departures are canceled. The 10 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. runs from Ocracoke are also canceled.
Anyone with a reservation for any of the canceled runs is advised to call 1-800-293-3779 and press 2 to either change the reservation or get a refund.
